Stick on clothing labels are finding use as a convenient identification option for school uniforms, care center clothing, and commercial laundry tagging programs. Instead of relying on sew-in or iron on patch style labels these products depend on pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Performance is determined by the quality of materials used to manufacture stick on clothing labels.
Great K2 produces printable self-adhesive vinyl materials which are used to create stick on clothing labels. We work with label converters, print factories, and materials distributors to provide consistent raw materials. We do not sell retail labels or offer customization services.
Materially, stick on clothing labels are generally constructed of three parts:
lPrintable vinyl face film
lWaterproof adhesive
lRelease liner
Face film needs to allow for high-quality printing while conforming to textiles. Adhesive needs to securely attach to fabric yet release without residue.
Great K2 has formulated acrylic adhesives which activate with light pressure. Remaining wash stable they create a lasting hold while causing minimal damage to garment fabrics.

How well a label sticks after washing is a crucial test of performance.
In a controlled lab environment Great K2 materials are tested against multiple wash/dry cycles. Cold and hot water, mild soap, tumble drying is typical. Labels applied correctly will not delaminate after several home laundry processes.
Adhesion can vary by fabric type, surface contact area, and application pressure. Generally, tight weave cottons and polyesters adhere best.
Readable print is another crucial factor.
Great K2 printable vinyl is compatible with eco-solvent, UV, and latex printing methods. Ink absorption is optimized to prevent feathering. Text appears crisp and colors will remain vibrant on small scale label formats.
Even after printing the surface coat retains a smooth texture. This allows graphics to better withstand wash stress and daily abrasion.
For professional converters, consistency is key.
Film thickness and coating weights are closely monitored during Great K2 production. Most face films range from .008” – .012”. This provides enough strength for handling during die cutting and printing while allowing flexibility.
Low shrinkage rates allow converters to maximize die cutting accuracy and minimize batch variation.
Below is a reference overview of common specifications for Great K2 printable materials used in stick on clothing labels:
Item | Standard Range |
Face film thickness | 80–120 microns |
Adhesive type | Acrylic pressure-sensitive |
Printing methods | Eco-solvent, UV, Latex |
Wash resistance | Multiple household cycles |
Release liner | Silicone-coated paper |
Application surface | Cotton, polyester blends |

Common uses for stick on clothing labels include:
School uniforms
Daycare
Assisted living/guidance
Sports uniforms
Temporary markings
Tags used in these areas must be able to withstand repeated washing and still perform well.
Great K2 supplies printable self-adhesive materials for use in the label making process. We do not sell finished labels or custom printing.
Great K2 supports distributors and label converters by providing stable materials with uniform batch performance. We are constantly working to improve our adhesive formulas, printable surfaces, and production quality. By offering stable materials we hope to empower our customers to produce reliable stick on clothing labels.
